Mango Plot Visit by Krishi Valley Team

A Glimpse Into Successful Mango Orchard Management: A Visit to Dr. Sameer Naik's Mango Plot, Yellur, Belagavi

At Krishi Valley, we are always eager to explore and share the success stories that shape the future of agriculture. Recently, we had the privilege of visiting a successful mango orchard owned by Dr. Sameer Naik, a doctor and a passionate farmer. His 4-acre mango plot in Yellur, Belgaum, features the renowned Kesar variety, which is known for its sweetness and premium quality. At just 4 years old, this orchard stands as a testament to Dr. Naik’s innovative farming practices and dedication to his farming.

Accompanied by our MD, Jagdish Patil Sir, Director Aparna Ma’am, Director Mallikarjun Desai, and our Social Media Marketing Team, we were given a first-hand tour of Dr. Naik’s efficient, residue-free mango farming model. His use of ultra-high-density planting, with 5 feet (plant to plant) by 12 (row to row) feet distance, maximizes yield while ensuring optimal space for growth.

Dr. Naik’s commitment to organic farming practices is truly inspiring. The orchard thrives on Jivamrut, compost from his Desi cows, and an automated drip irrigation system, ensuring healthy mangoes with minimal pesticide use. Another unique aspect of his orchard is fruit bagging, which protects the mangoes from pests, spots and adverse climate effect, resulting in naturally ripened, premium-quality produce.

Impressively, Last year Dr. Naik’s orchard produced an impressive production of 17 lakh Rs, and this year, he aims for 25 lakh, making it an extraordinary achievement for such a young orchard. We are proud to share his journey, as it embodies the power of sustainable, innovative farming practices. At Krishi Valley, we promote such inspiring farm stories and updates to motivate others in the agricultural community. Stay tuned for more success stories and insights from our exploration of thriving agricultural ventures!
